Valerie is a unique performer that is fun and very educational. The children were mesmerized by all she could do with a Yo-Yo not to mention the tops. Some our prizes for our Summer Reading program were Yo-Yos and the children were so excited that they could try Valerie's tricks. She picked a young man out of the audience to help her with a trick and I was nerveous because she didn't know he had autism. I was worried how he would react to her but he did great because she was so awesome with him. He was so proud of his Yo-Yo.

Such talent!!! What a rare and fabulous opportunity to see a live person who excels at this sport! Val mesmerized us all, young and old, and interspersed scientific facts along the way. The main point of her show, which she skillfully brought us all back to at the end, was that PRACTICE makes wonderful things happen, not initial ability. "Keep at things until you get it down" is a concept that is becoming more scarce in today's world, but Val presents herself as a living example that PRACTICE works. Her instructions were doable and kept simple so we could start yo-yo-ing, too. Audience involvement was entertaining and respectfully handled, and Val arrived early for set-up, giving us a wonderful and worry-free experience. This was a great, low-key program.

Ms. Oliver was a superb entertainer. She is very talented and also did a great job teaching the child the how-to of yo-yoing. She was positive and encouraging. The children were treated to a science lesson all the while having fun with her presentation. I definitely would have her return to the library.

Val Oliver and her Science of Spin show was both educational and entertaining! She is very talented! She did a fabulous job of educating our young and old about the science behind gravity and spin, not to mention her skill with a yo-yo. Val is very professional and entertaining while explains the science of spin interacting with the yoyo. She gives maximum effort during her performance. Adults and children remained engaged during the performance. She is self contained with the set up and breakdown of equipment. We look forward to having her return in 2018!
