Michael Anthony Steele - Author & Screenwriter
This was Mr. Steele's second performance at Rice Elementary and will not be his last. His message is simple yet powerful "I can do that!". His school presentation is dynamic one; more than enough for this millennial generation to stay entertained. Mr. Steele writes books that motivate students to read! Our district held an inaugural LitCon! event and Mr. Steele was the evenings star attraction. This event drew in thousands of participants and he handled the crowds with a friendly smile as a genuine entertainer.
The students at our presentations were thoroughly and thoughtfully engaged. He hooks them in his charisma and showmanship while still being informative about writing. His encouraging mantra- “I Can Do That” was a great message. The students loved the presentation and the teachers heaped praise as one of the best author visits ever. He was professional and easy to work with, plus we had great conversations about comic books! Highly Recommended!
What a fabulous day we had with Anthony! I could not have asked for more from him. The kids were completely engaged, asked great questions, and he was so easy to work with. Several students had purchased books for him to autograph, which they now have in their hot little hands. We had 14 kids, 2 chosen randomly from each grade level, join us for a pizza party lunch. These kids got to ask him lots of questions which he graciously and patiently answered. His presentation moved seamlessly from speaking to graphics to movie clips to Q&A, then had a fun musical wrap-up. I'm so glad we were able to have him here at Fairmount!
Steele has put together a fabulous, entertaining, engaging TEKs/Common Core base shows for students. Students listened intently and participated when appropriate. Steele is down to earth and easy to work with. I highly recommend him for an author visit.
Mr. "Ant" Steele has worn so many "hats" that I think he is a great inspiration to our students! I think it's very important that our kids can see that they too can work toward different goals in life--and be successful. Mr. Steele certainly drove that point across!
